the spec for small block spark plug gap was .35 correct? Maybe this is a dumb question but my engine is not stock, i run mopar chrome box with aftermarket coil, since I have more available volatage to jump the gap than stock should I run a longer than stock gap on the plugs?

I run a .040 plug gap. I ran this with the MoPar chrome box and now with the MSD ignition. Seems to work well.

You should be able to go as far as .55 believe it or not, however, I doubt you'll find a gain with it there that wide. Best test is at the track until performance falls off. .40 is a safe bet for now.

In the MSD instruction manual there's a chart that tells you what plug gaps to use based on your comp. ratio. I have stock pistons with MSD box, coil, and dist. and my 360 seems to like .45 just my two cents
