Speed Pro H405CP Pistons

-
I prefer the speed pro/sealed power pistons over KB.

We bought an engine that KB's in it, when we reassembled it, one skirt chipped off of #5 piston without even hitting it hard, just picking it up. I noticed that the skirt is much thinner than the speed pro/sealed power pistons.

Have 2 engines with those pistons in them. One is in my dirt track car. regularly sees 6k plus been in there for over 3 seasons no problems so far.

They are nice pistons, but if I was doing it over like you from square one, I would go forged.

Been using a set of those pistons for about 3 seasons now. Turn them 6800 on gear change, still going strong. They are on Ebay for around $120 a set all the time. Biggest disadvantage is that they sit so far down the hole (mine are .047 down), makes achieving a decent compression ratio a bit of a challenge. I got mine to 10 to 1 by milling the heads .050 (58cc) and using the Mr Gasket 1121g head gaskets. This engine has pushed my car to 11.00 at 119 in the 1/4.

Great info. Thank you!

IIRC Mine were only 2 grams of the stock dished pistons. If a mild street build skip the balancing. Engine runs smooth. Compression is about 8.8 to 1 with stock head and .039 gasket.

........Sorry to hi jack...So these pistons have a slightly higher compression distance than a stock piston........thanks..........kim......
