anyone ever try these ? ....pro comp STEEL HEAD magnum style ...179 cc RUNNER !!!! ..62cc chamber ....1.920 and 1.625 valves ....only 550 pair shipped on ebay .....bare heads

E.Q. heads are 172 cc ...62 cc

INDY X RHS are 179 cc ... 62 cc

i know mike at MRL does not like the E.Q. OR THE INDY ....I guess by the time you finish them with valves , springs, retainers, locks , valve job ....your so close to aluminum that steel heads do not make sense ....if your going for a el-cheapo build a set of good uncracked used magnum heads with a bowl blend on a street car would get you so close you could not tell the difference ....

just kicking around things for a cheap build and cheap car to beat around with ...found a good roller for a grand.....$100 a gallon single stage paint job myself ...used craigslist mags and tires $350 ....cheapo summit racing seats $100 ...another 100 for rattle cans everywhere....even comes with new carpet ....lol....found a 360 magnum complete for $140 ....$250 with the 904 that is still on it ...thinking i can have complete car done for about 3500-4000 that looks like 13500-14000 ....lol....

I think these are Magnum based, meaning Magnum rockers, oiling, etc. The aluminum heads (I have a set) are LA based. So it depends on what you want/need knowing the differences to fit your application.

they are magnum heads"

According to their compatibility chart they will not fit a 1996 5.9L Magnum

One more time. Those are Magnum heads.

thanks but this is going the wrong way .....i know they are magnum heads ....i asked if anyone has USED them !!!!!! ......like if they flowed better than the other knock off magnum heads ....

Not to threadjack...but i will in this instance..

watch that company's customer service...The first and last experience i had with them consisted of them shipping my item 2 days late, and then misquoting the transit time by a day, resulting in what should have been the parts showing up 3 days late (mon instead of the previous thurs), BUT!!!!!!!...when i called to ask about the fact they shipped late, and i was now not going to be able to work on the car that weekend, the rep gets all nasty with me, which resulted in me telling him that i wouldn't speak fondly of this transaction.
So anyways, the conversation ends, i didn't cancel the order or anything despite the fact that their service rep offered me nothing for my trouble, and then when i run the tracking a day later i notice the package was RECALLED BY SENDER.
So this @$$ had gotten off the phone with me, and then calls UPS and requests a return to sender on the package because i said i'm not leaving good feedback on this transaction.
he made no mention of this whatsoever, and again i didn't cancel the order...
so i call back, get the same @ss who then tells me since they weren't going to earn my positive feedback anyways, that they recalled the shipment, and were NOT going to tell me, and DID NOT care at all about informing me because of the argument and feedback.

GREAT customer service there....we all want to see if we can save a few dollars on some offshore knockoffs, which sometimes we can..., but i can tell you straight up, this place has the least knowledgeable staff, and the most pompous asses on the phone i have ever dealt with...can you image a rep at jegs, Pace, or summit hanging up the phone angry at a customer, and then recalling their package without warning just to "teach them a lesson"? that person would be walked out the door there!

i will say after 2 more phone conversations and arguments they offered to reship a new set, but there was no promises they would be to my door by the NEXT fri, and it should have never even gotten to that point. What a joke that place is, and how pathetic the experience i had there was. And no...nothing above is an exaggeration, this is exactly how that went down. And the rep also told me is was his supervisors call to recall the package since i wasn't going to sing their praises. again GREAT customer service...

going to start a new thread with were i was really going ....my fault ....thanks

you really didn't do anything to indicate you needed help determining what kind of heads they are... I'd say that's noted from this point on...no real need to create a dupe thread.

Not to hijack this tread...

one Friday afternoon i noticed they had the wrong price on their web site ..where the aluminum fully assembled cnc heads were $520.00....I placed two in the cart....waiting to see if it rejected them...about an hour later I purchased two .....

there ad stated it would ship with in 24 hours...well...hell by wednesday I had nothing...no heads..no tracking numbers....So I emailed them...and they responded that the heads were in the machine shop down the street from them being CNC and assemble..that they would ship on Friday ...Dam...that is a week late...

So on Friday I got 4 tracking numbers for two sets of CNC heads..cause they were listed as 520 dollars a set not each....So I guess I should have rejected them ...and send them back...cause I got them a week late.....

I think i got great Customer Service for them honoring a wrong price...

I think they fall under any massed produced head, buy them bare and have a known good shop install quality hardware to your build. Since they are probably considered a replacement head for stock applications, you may have better luck on a site where folks may use them more, like a Ram Tuck site. I'm not trying to me a smart *** here, just attempting to help you find different avenues to gain the information your looking for.
