Have you tried rockauto ?

I was surprised at how many the offer, including old cars and cruise control sets.

Are you looking under the year and specs of your car?

Quick search shows a 273 automatic cable is $9

The 65 has 2 screw on ferrules, not a bayonet end in like later years The cut to length will work but dont rely on the staking tool procedure they give you. You cant just whack it with a hammer! You need to set it in a vice and squeeze tip onto cable. I have a later trans and I found the 65 works on that too, its the speedo head that is somewhat unique. Long time memory, ymmv.

Well for that price I should buy THREE if you knew me, I’ll mess up the first TWO!
Thank you

I don't think that particular RockAuto listing is correct-

The '65 has the speedo gear adapter as part of the cable, not 2 ferrules.

Brewer's carries them (automatic and manual cables are the same) , but prepare for sticker shock:

Professor Fate is correct I believe! the double screw on will fit the later trans to early speedo, I think his is actually the real deal date correct. After 67 did they go to a bayonet speedo mount?

Ive used the cut to fit. My first one I cut it too long and the thing was binding up in the sheath and making the speedo wiggle. The 2nd one I cut just a hair shorter and it has been working ever since. Use graphite powder (lock lube?) as the lube not grease or oil as that collects garbage. I was suprised how gritty the old cable was when I pulled it it, where did all that stuff come from?

Would it be best to cut to same length as old one?
