if you get back on your dart I will do the same LOL you too doc
My dart is running and driving "great..." I'm looking for a new block right now
Barring some hideous disaster, the self-hijack of the Start of a Dart thread is over. The truck is done with the wheels cleaned up and painted, new tires, and AFAIK everything works with no leaks that I can find. It's time to drive this bad boy for a while. Yoo-Hoo, Mr. Dart, best to awaken from your 8-month siesta. It's time to get back to work...
Buy my 400. I'm not going to use it.
Good lookin truck!
I want a 340 or 360 block for it. So I can try my hand at building a stroker
you'll get lots more cu in's from a 400 stroker
If you stop looking for that unicorn nut (a cheap big block bellhousing..) and put a slush box behind it you can put it in that valiant.
Dragging this up off of page four hoping something will get done on it this year...
Hmmm. This Dart has been sitting patiently in the driveway for too long a time. I wandered outside today, and............huh............where is the Dart? Oh, wait a minute. Does the missing Dart look like this Dart, that's parked inside the shop? Why yes it does! The D-150 interlude is all wrapped up, the Dart is back inside, and it's time to get to work on it. Let's get your front paws in the air sir, and get your shoes off. It's time to get going on the rebuild of the front end, brakes, and changing from power steering and power brakes to manual for both.
Can I ask why? Is there an advantage to using a solid one vs the original red transluscent one?
Finally the dart back in the shop
No advantage that I can figure. I got the car as an half-finished 25 year project. There were LOTS of things that I didn't get with it, or I had to figure out. I made the dividers because I had no red plastic ones at all. I also had only one tail lens housing. A shout-out to @SGBARRACUDA , as he had the housing I was missing and sent me a somewhat melted divider so I could trace it and make new ones. I had sheet metal on hand and no red plastic, so I went down the road of least resistance.
Yes Sir! If I can get it street worthy by DEC 31, @j par said he would eat his entire car. That would be a spectacle worth watching...
Ummm....you can drive it and it goes and stops and steers, and enough of the electrical and everything else works well enough to not get you a ticket. I think you have nothing to worry about, my world just exploded so time to work on the Dart or truck just went in the toilet for a while.
I've been working non stop... Finally got a day off and I'll be sanding on the truck cab tomorrow... A new bet is needed...
Well, I've been working WAY too much, a surge I would not have predicted. However, it's nice to have money going into the checking account. However, you've been to my place............here's what it looks like at the moment. It's been several weeks of trying to stay ahead of the logger.
