.starting trouble ....charging..wiring trouble ... . rewire taking out the amp. gauge

ok guys..... have to pass this on for all who have starting trouble on a-body's with mopar's electronic ign. ...wiring trouble ...seat belt lock out trouble ...neutral safety switch trouble.....lack of full 12 volts were needed etc....i just bought a 1974 duster with a 318 ...the old owner had just replaced the following parts because the car would only start and run when it wanted to .....and if it did it would stall out all the time and they could not get it going again .he replaced all this with brand new parts......new ign.switch in the column ...new oe mopar electronic dist cap rotor coil wires ...new ecu ...new voltage reg. ....new battery ...new starter re-lay ...new battery cables ...new ground straps ...even added two more to the k-member and firewall ....new eddy 4barrel carb....new fuel pump and filter ...still did the same thing !!!!!! ...he was so pissed he sold the car ...he also put all new brake lines power brake booster master cly. ...and calipers on this thing ....so i buy the car ...never had a mopar ....so i start reading everything i can on here about the cars trouble ... first i tie the two yellow wire together to by-pass the seat belt lock out ....did not help ....then i grounded the neutral safety switch to by-pass that ...did not help....if you came off the start mode to the run mode fast it would sometimes start but not run for crap ....i even jumped the ballast to give it full 12volts it did help to get it going till i pulled the jump wire after it was running ....so here's what i did ...got a tsp hei dizzy with the external coil for 50 bucks ...got a 45000 coil for 30 bucks ...and then did the re-wire power source deal i found on here were you by-pass the amp gauge ...take the black and red at the gauge join them together ..by-pass the firewall connections and run two new 10 ga wires with a 16ga fusible link to the starter re-lay ...then take the black 10ga from the alternator and run it to the starter re-lay with a 14ga fusible link...the dizzy has just two wires both go to the coil ...then run off the + side of the coil a wire to full 12 volt power in the run mode when the key in on ..solved it
