Steering column modification

Hello a-buddies. I'm switching from column shift to floor shift in my 71 duster. If I buy the steering column delete kit, do I need to pull the steering column to do the swap? Is there a write up on this already?

Look in your Factory Service Manual. bet theirs is a procedure for replacing parts in there.


This all assumes you will be leaving the column shift tube inside the the column. Otherwise you would have to remove the column to remove it, it only comes out the bottom and I would assume there are other lower column bearings or parts to hold all that together that would need to be changed.

One thing DO NOT beat on the steering shaft or the shift tube shaft you will brake the plastic tabs in the column
