I pulled the steering column on my 66 barracuda today to repair the coupler and lower dust cover. I reinstalled the column and noticed it's not centered in the cluster.

I never noticed it before. Anyone ever come across this? I don't see any kind of adjustment side to side, so I'm thinking of slotting the holes to get it over. Good or bad idea or am I just not seeing the adjustment?
Thanks,
Aaron

The plate on the firewall has bigger holes and has a bit of adjustment.

I didn't even think about the lower plate. Got fixated on the upper mount. Loosened everything up again and moved it back to center.
Thank you.

These girls are better than some. Friend of mine used to have a Fiat 850 Spider, rear engine. Not only is the front footroom "tapered in" to nothing, but the column sits crooked in the car. On a side note, he had to change the clutch once. I could not stick my little finger through the shaft hole in the disc

There is a procedure in the service manual - it says to tighten the floor plate last, so the bottom bushing does not have thrust applied to it.
