    Ok, I stand corrected, so they have lopey-er idles for the duration. Guess they seemed too "market gimickey" oriented to Me, & I haven't paid much attention to them.

    They are.....but they also WORK. There have been many people use them in actual racing circles that have had great success. Could they have chosen something that would have worked "better"? Maybe, but they are a quick go to for that cool sound, plus if the rest of the build suits them they will work!

    Here's the upshot, if You don't want to pull the heads to have the guides shortened(I know...there ARE other workaround methods possible but), stay .475" max design lift. Wide LSA's improve driveability/idle which are more effective on higher durations. As already posted by others, keep the @.050 around 220deg max on the intake. The older cam I referenced had a smooth...read not aggressive.... profile, this makes it easier for the valve springs to control the valves, which are relatively light in a teener. Mine would start to "give in" just past 5,800rpm, so that's where I'd bang a gear. That 318 was out of a '74 Dart, I believe it had 78K(?) on it. Extreme Energy Hydraulics are great cams, but You will need to get the rec'd springs for sure.

      My short impression'd be that it functions like a bigger cam scavenge-wise, and like a smaller one with an advanced IVC. Which I love tighter LSA's on a lot of the flow-starved stuff I've dealt with. I wasn't puttin' 'em down Dude, just sayin' why I haven't given them much attn.

      So, Is there a Short Answer?
      I'm trying to use this to Decide on a Cam for My 273 2bbl 4-Speed Build.
      I'm doing a Freshen-Up this Winter for a Burning-Oil/Smoking Motor and I may just leave the old cam in there if it looks okay...

          i would swap some 3.55s keep the camshaft in the 260-264 duration .470 lift. Get a double roller timing chain with adjustable key ways and advance it 4 degrees that way you can build up some pressure giving you some low end.

            Lol, OK. Like the Lunati Voodoo series....I just have an adverse reaction to that for some reason, they may be fine cams, but it's science & R&D not voodoo lol! I'm kinda like...just show Me the specs and a dyno curve & go back to making cams, lol....

            They are good. Companies just feel like something has to have a snappy name or it won't sell. They figure their customers are stupid enough to fall for a snappy name. Some are, unfortunately.....but not everything with a snappy name is bad. A lot of things without the snappy name are good, though.

                      Yes it does. I don't find that cam for sale on Summit's site. Apparently a old Comp grind. @RustyRatRod mentioned in a post from a ways back "if you can find one". Maybe you better call Jegs.

                        Might be old stock. Too bad it's a kit. You want the cam. I would use my own timing set and different lifters.

                        well they have just the cam, but I wanted the kit because this is the first time i'm doing this and I wanted to insure that all the parts are simpatico.
