In my 120 year old house, I went through about 1400 gallons last year. I didn't prebuy as I planned to switch to NG. It just took longer to have them trench the line than I had expected.
There is a bunch of lobbying to get them banned. Very efficient, heat very well. Just not getting the tax money and power companies aren't making a killing on fuel. Local loggers are making the money then. All about the money. The smoke....I have never found a person personally who has complained. I am sure some with lung issues, but in cold climate areas, most love the smell of the wood fires.
Our house is small, we maybe use 600 gallons if it’s average, 800-1000 if it’s super cold
If you live in a cold region, heat means fire... like flaming burning something. Everything else just struggles
Those are banned for new installs now. EPA rules
I use around four tons of coal, all I use for heat.
They did ban them. For new installs though
That's pretty cool for West V isn't it? We're supposed to get up to 53 here today. I will put up some outside Xmas decorations today. Yesterday was nice and I got my pick up parts swapped.
They definately sell them here.
Morning guys! Got room for more ? I take my coffee with a little cream !
Got it covered!
Average low for Nov here is 23° so it's not too far off. Frosty though. Wind is the big thing here. The valley is pretty narrow so it gets going
Funny because I still see them for sale
Cold and windy was the wx here a few days ago. Sounds like you may be getting it now.
Coal burners? We have a lot of outside wood burners that are hotwater heat
There’s some that have a filtering system, that can still be installed. For now. others like the stainless Hardy brand that was around for nearly 75 years, is banned and they chose to not do the filtering system due to costs and reliability.
Good morning! It a chilly 53 degrees here this morning. Pretty cool for Nov. But it'll warm up some in a hurry.
Been looking for the BT Bourbon Cream around here. Nobody seems to carry it.
Good morning and welcome! Al is it ? On my last cup, no creamer in it, just a half shot of Crown . Temps will hit 59 here with wind gusts nearing 12 mph, a small rain event heading this way from the west southwest. May have to go hunting for some fresh fish , should only take 30 to 45 minutes to fill my stringer . Let's all have a safe day @toolmanmike , easy as she goes on the ladder today. My three brothers, first time ever to be on the hill together.. miss them all very much, time to move forward.
It is tough to find. Buffalo Trace seems to like it that way. LOL They are one of the largest in the country and still can't seem to keep up. Even their bottom shelf/entry level spirits are hard to come by. They are working on a 1.2 billion (with a B) expansion to the distillery and warehouses. That should help in 4 years or so.
It's Wagon Wednesday! Good morning
Thanks Mike. Sounds like you are getting your day started in good fashion. I have a 3 step ladder for the big wreath and that's it. All other lights and decorations are ground level. Getting too old for that tall ladder stuff. Happy Thanksgiving.
How about Dodge Dart Wagon Wednesday?
