Just got a call from Bob Baker of ABC Moparts in Kingman, Arizona. I left him a message last week about the dash pad and frame for my 70 Cuda. Sounded like a really nice guy. Had a good conversation with him and today I'm going to box this up and send it out to him to restore. I don't want to bad mouth what is probably the most famous dash pad restorer around, I had spoken with the unmentionable dash restorer on the phone and the guy seemed rather obstinate and too expensive and I found out that their reviews were not that great either. Bob at ABC Moparts is almost half price of them and I did some research to find out that he does great work also. So plus plus.

That's something you will be looking forward to seeing on your return next year ? Because you leave out soon good call I say, when you can talk to the person and feel him out on his communication skills and wisdom is a must do before opening your wallet, lot of competition out there. Good luck Mitch, you took all the steps I say.

Yes. He says he has a backlog of dashes to do. He does all makes GM,Ford,Jeep etc....Says no problem for mine to be ready for me when I return in April...

Making a list today for my to do's this fall, pull spark plugs for a good read, pull air shocks off throw them away, remove drive shaft and check everything from u-joints to pinion condition, new outer axle bearings, only bearings I did not change 5 years ago because the looked clean and not abused, gear wear .. grease all the new front end.. small list but I intend to drive her south for a 1.400 mile round trip if the weather cooperates.. she still has zero leaks by looking on the concrete where she stays in the shop. And thats a good thing with these 904 360 la set ups.

Everyone have a glorious day, hopefully we all can have a clear sky tonight become..well, you know all about the moon faze we are in

So I leave you with a munster picture from last year ?? Not sure, but it was at Pettit Jean Mountain

Them graveyard shifts make me glad that 99% of concrete and paving contractors hate working in the dark :lol:
Your right, we didn't, but I have baby sat a few slabs keeping dogs off and watering it down if needed because of hot weather. (Yes, I had a bottle in my truck) lol

Well, after I talked to Bob at ABC Moparts, I had to go out and do some business here and there. So I took the dash unit to the local UPS Store to send out to him. Good Lord, very expensive to send across country ( Aint sayin how much ) but high. Good news is, he will get it done before April 26 and ship back to me, hopefully at N/C......

shipped a grille and header panel to a fellow member here. he had a call tag. either my scale was way off or my package measurements put it into oversize category, but it was more than the product.

cleaning corner in junk room. it's three layers deep to the wall with Grandma and grandpa's lamp buried in the corner. good news, I can see/touch the lamp. bad news, the boxes in front are being sorted to keep/sell and they are spread out in the open space now. wish the camera was working and could share my historic (or is that hysterical) finds. 22 piece pewter miniature tea set from 1934 Chicago century of Progress. Johnson & Johnson first aid auto kit, still full, ready to go (ha-ha). airline Seagram's V.O. bottles, full. maybe I should get a booth at an antique store...or just sell it all to one.

Final inspection in a few min. I made sure the waterheater was lit this time. LOL

 Not to say it never happened. I spent 1 summer doing 7 12s mining rip rap while PG&E rebuilt the breakwater at the nearby nuke plant. Seems the previous winter was a little more than they planned for :realcrazy:. The only day we got off that summer was Labor Day because PG&E refused to pay the Triple Time . Another summer, Sunday through Thursday nights paving the local freeway. Just couldn't interfere with the daytime traffic ya know. Probably a good thing, those paving projects are subject to a high risk to the paving crews on the job. Only had 1 incident of a driver going through the barricades and winding up on the fresh matte right behind the roller  The paving crew did have CHP re-enforcement

I was listening to a local FM station this morning.
"October 24th through 27th! Famoso Raceway! West Coast Hot Rod Reunion! Nitro Funny Cars, Top Fuel Dragsters, outrageous Fuel Altereds. The CackleFest is back! Be There!"
Sounded just like the radio ads we used to hear in our teens for Irwindale Raceway. Be There!! :D
