Well that made me feel stupid. The tub drain stopper is a pull and half twist to open. Grab the knob and it just spins but doesn't unscrew. I wanted to remove it so Lauren can put a hair trap in it. The plumbers didn't give me any instruction sheet for it. :BangHead: :BangHead:
I had to call in to the plumber and have the office gals e mail me some links to the product and manufacturer. I got Installation instructions but no idea how to remove the plunger. Off to the internet. The manufacturer's website didn't have any instructions so I went to You tube. After watching a half dozen vids for lift and turn stoppers, a plumber said to grip the OD of the stopper with big channel locks and if yours has a knurl on the knob, unscrew the knob with another pair of pliers. Well I tried that and all it did id distort the plunger and mung up the knob on top. I had remembered some foreigner fellow that said to lull up half way on the plunger and it will unscrew. Well damn if it didn't. (half way between closed and open) What a frickin' goat screw.

Sorry for the rant. I have been dinking with this for almost 3 hours and 3 trips halfway across town to grab tools and search on my laptop for a solution. |
I would rather work on an old Dodge! :mob::mob:

Hell of a day Mike, you have my approval to take tomorrow off and relax.
 
The memorial was very nice, he had a great family abd some really good friends. Big turnout too. Lots of club members, past and present.

Top is the ambulance i was working on, green chevy 454,4speed with every option. He ordered it.
There were more cars in the lineup, some left early.

I dealt with similar a couple of days. Stumbled onto a good deal on aftermarket jukebox for the RAV. only needed install kit (44 at ebay).
I must say the thing was pretty awesome out of the chinamans mold. I've never seen 2 pieces of plastic fit together so perfectly.
There was not 1 printed word, not even the typical warning on the bag. Nothing helpful to be found online except for 1 youtube video, "figure it out. Bolts in OEM mounting bracket should be 6m-1.0p. Determine longer bolts, create 4 spacers as needed."
Around noon Sunday at Advance auto, the bolt packages have bolt length call out in metric also.
I didn't have my phone on me so I taught the guy there a little something. "Fire up you calculator. 40 divided by 25.4 equals ? He shows me 1.5xxx which was close enough to the 1.5 inches I had determined needed. He says, "wait. Let's do that again. Divided by what? So cool. If that's all you need I got you. Thanks for the math lesson."
Back home and I cut 4 pieces of 3/8 tubing 1 inch long. I poked some dumdum putty inside them but lost 1 down into the dash anyway. Told the wife, "We're sitting right here where they make the things. Run in and get another." LOL
All done except for installing the 2 new pieces of dash L&R of the stereo that shattered when removed (another 26 bucks At ebay). I did find that to be very typical in this rice burner. Are we having fun yet?

Wife had a helluva day yesterday, toothache in middle of night prompted my 7-11 run for Ambesol, then she slid down the stairs in the morning, her toothache kept getting worse, took her to her dental appt from work, she ended up with an oral surgery tooth extraction recommendation. Pain got worse, bumped up the extract consult now scheduled for tomorrow and went to the gummy shop because the Narco they prescribed isn't touching the pain.
