Exact side broke Sat morning shortly after my sweetie left. Had both springs replaced yesterday morning. They will send the bill. $650.00.? Damn!
Crazy coincidence and maybe that's the going rate for both sides. I asked him why both kinda knowing the answer, could have one side done for $425/50 and even though we are selling probably won't go that route. Surprised me there are companies around here that are 24/7, will drive to Whidbey Island from Everett and fix it same/next day. I guess that explains some of the cost

Okay so catching up on my email I see the body shop is ready for the car within 7-10 days not the 5-6 months they had mentioned. This will be interesting since I sent them an email telling them how happy I was to get a contract I couldn't even see and a request for deposit but not knowing they were asking for the car, doh!!!

That sounds about right. I have seen it done a dozen times but have never done one myself. Or would. I now have 2 doors with the torsion springs. They work way better than the old style doors with the long coil springs on the side. I think we have only broken 1 spring here in 30 years.

I let them pick the time schedule to come. My car was in garage jail over weekend and my sweetie was out of town. I have my pickup in shed and used my 72 Fury to go to to my granddaughter’s grad party

Found another docusign thing in my email, rental that we are getting July 12 is sending documents for utilities etc. (wife already signed lease). Glad she's handling this stuff I can see some overtime coming in the next week or two....

Had the old spring style at my previous home. It broke and wiped out the mount, dented the roof of my pickup and black paint specs everywhere. That’s when I learned to string a cable through the springs

We had one of those cheapies on the garage at our rental house. It was an aluminum frame fiberglass door with no insulation. That and the long coil springs, it would never go up and down straight. It would jamb and run off the tracks. What a POS it was. I called my buddy at Overhead Door and had him put in a fully insulated door with a new operator. Not cheap but good quality and so smooth and quiet.

Last one I did was a adjustment on the tall door. Seriously a PIA using two bars to adjust the tension. If it gets away from you it will throw you for sure if not worse.

I have two Insulated Overhead Steel Rolling Doors, that I installed myself 24 years ago ( cause I'm cheap like that ). They have internal torsional springs inside the drums. I just re-adjusted the springs one step tighter on both doors after 24 years. Have a HD Chain driven 110vt operator on the work bay door, since that one is used most. Had to reset the limit switches on that door. Overhead Doors of all design can be tricky/dangerous, but just read the instructions and its all good....
