Dammit

It’s in my bucket list of things to go watch. I ain’t brave (crazy ?) enough to strap in and try anything.I am not racing either. If I was taking the car, Id have a crew. This is just wanting to go to spectate
can see this now. Dukey head engineer, Wolfie in charge of safety/OSHA interface, Mitch entertainment, Ben AKA Rick Mexican sponsor for supplying the real white salt............

I don't see it as crazy or brave. How fast have you gone on the highway, some back road, etc? Think of back road high speed runs, street racing, etc. There are people, cars, animals, etc. Out there, there is nothing but emptiness and although miles away, safety personnel. It’s in my bucket list of things to go watch. Good point.I don't see it as crazy or brave. How fast have you gone on the highway, some back road, etc? Think of back road high speed runs, street racing, etc. There are people, cars, animals, etc. Out there, there is nothing but emptiness and although miles away, safety personnel.
Unfortunately the salt is so bad, thin, and not getting better. I think racing out there is not going to be going on all that much longer. Just my opinoionWe stopped there when going cross country, nothing was going on but very impressive for sure thats the place to do it.
What do you mean bad? Rough?Unfortunately the salt is so bad, thin, and not getting better. I think racing out there is not going to be going on all that much longer. Just my opinoion
There are very few to have ever gone that fast. Yes, they are a different breed.Good point.
Back roads, 145 when I sent a rod thru the Stealth’s engine. Which is actually how I came into the Dart. Traded the stealth for the Dart. Thought was it’d be cheaper than paying 6k to get a new stealth engine…. Whoops.
Fastest ever for me is 180 in a Mercedes in between Stuttgart and Frankfurt Germany on the autobahn.
I’m talking about the folks going for broke, you know 5-600 mph on salt? That takes giant balls (or craziness) and well I’ll admit, mine ain’t that big.
it is so thin compared to long ago. the moisture comes out during the day, pot holes and other issues. it will go away, then it will be nothing but brine mudWhat do you mean bad? Rough?
Do they prep it any?
Yeah. I wouldn’t mind going out there one day. Maybe I should try to incorporate a side trip in my Route 66 trip next year. If I time it right, I could knock out bothThere are very few to have ever gone that fast. Yes, they are a different breed.
I’ll say this though. One of the reasons I’m stuck on my dart right now, since I’ve had my surgery, my insides can’t take G forces like they used too.Think for me was just over 200 in a Kamson I worked on.
That will be cool. Have they posted the dates for next year?Even if the salt is crap, as long as it hasn't rained, I am planning to have my car there next year. I need to be able to run it, even if not fast. Just something I need and always wanted to do
Hmm. So that might actually work out date wise. I was planning on leaving September 1st next year for 3 weeks.Speed Week is Aug 2-8 2026, and World of Speed is the weekend after Labor Day.

They are fragile at this age. Decades of lack of proper maintenance doesn’t help the complexities of the things by any means. Most people don’t realize that the cables need adjusting quite frequently and that leads to other problems. Or if the cables develop a lack, which is quite common, it affects the pressure in side and over time will destroy the pump or the governor. And yet another pushbutton transmission issue. 64' Plymouth Valiant v-8 Push Button - Torqueflite Linkage or ???
Just as a modLOL posted that yesterday your sloooooow as a mod!![]()
