Going to lazy out on oil change for Ramcharger so I called local Dodge dealership, is a great price, labor plus the filter since I'm providing the oil. I tell the kid it's a 318 and he asks is that a 3 liter?

Morning folks! Ted and I are off to the river today. Starks in Prairie DuChein Wisc. has a Larceny barrel pick to sample and may be buy a bottle or two.

I took my truck in for an oil change at Monroe Muffler. I can't do it myself when they run a special. And they give you a multi point check on your vehicle. So they say you are going to need brakes all around. I said no thanks I do my own. So last week I pulled the first wheel....almost half the pads there. Pull a rear wheel and the same. But I got the oil changed and tires rotated

Yep I'm sure that looking for other work is on their agenda, for 30 bucks I'll have them tell me if the oil leak I have is rear main or not

Tike, I had the same thing happen last month. Had a good customer who called me said his brother had his vehicle at Firestone automotive to be checked over and they did a little work but they told him he needed brakes all the way around on his Honda and they wanted $1,200. So me being the prepared guy I am, ordered brakes for this Honda all the way around, rotors and pads. Vehicle comes here the next day I put it up on the lift has over 50% left front and rear. I told the guy not to go back to Firestone ever again. He was pretty pissed off.

I tell everyone not to go back. For me I sit there and watch through the big windows so know that I am getting the oil change deal they offer but I never have them do the work they say it needs

I worked at the Buick/GMC dealer for a dozen years. I was a Service Advisor. I thought of myself as a shop foreman. Talk to the customers, schedule the work, Run cars in and out to keep the shop full and the tech's busy. I did sell service but we (service manager and I) didn't sell what wasn't needed. Back then we would do cooling flush, wheel bearing repack, transmission service, and engine tune every 25,000 miles. We had a lot of happy customers that went on trouble free vacations across the country. Tire rotation and alignment as needed. I am not a believer in rotation at every oil change. There is over 60,000 on the wife's Envision with the original tires that have never been rotated. No uneven wear and it is a all wheel drive. It's time for a new set before winter though.

My main auto parts store was near the Washington DC beltway but also fairly close to the Washington DC Maryland line. I had a slippery customer near the DC line that kept a set of worn out brake pads and rotors at his front service counter to show customers after he told them that they changed their brakes. Slimy guy

I'm dropping my work truck off for "death wobble", not caused by brakes which are new. 223k on rig, want Fleet to replace vehicle but they have mad scientist formula, prolly cause they've replaced the transmission in it. Anyhoo, getting all new front end components, ball joints etc. etc., then goes in for new front tires and alignment

Stuff like that gives mechanics and shops a bad reputation. We have a couple dealers in town that are like that. Go in for an oil change and $1500 later.......

Hard to find that nowadays. Since we got our Kia Stinger my sister warned me of what they were doing down in OR at a Kia service, they bored a hole in the bottom panel/dust cover of a Kia with "lifetime oil changes" to same time so they wouldn't have to remove it proper
