@Sublime one , I just got a message from Waleed. He has a 15 year old bourbon for Ted and I to barrel pick. He wouldn't tell me the distillery though. Tomorrow maybe the day.
We're on for 2:00. Pics to follow. A 15 year will take some time. I have my eyedropper bottle ready in case we need to tame the beast and a couple Wee Glencarin's. I ordered 2 more so we have 3 Wee's each. The barrel pick samples come in 3's.
Not as stunning as we had hoped. It was 2 Bull Run samples, a Pinot Noir finish barreled in 2007 and a corn forward whiskey barreled in 2008. The Pinot finish had a fruity nose but not much carried over to the palate which was pretty hot even at only 120 proof. We added a little water which helped a lot. The whiskey was better and more enjoyable but not complex. Both were kind of meh to us. Now to tell Waleed our real opinions. LOL View attachment 1715945734
And sometimes ya just gotta go all in ghetto! Hah. Solo red cup and cleaning up after State Match. My match cart is trashed, brass everywhere, totally slimed in sun block, loading blocks in disarray, shotgun shells everywhere. What a honking mess!
The Elijah Craig is a barrel pick that Ted and I did. It has turned into a delicious 133.6 proof sipper.
I like gin and tonic in the summer. Ted has some Gin from Corsair Distillery that we drink neat. It is smooth, interestingly different, and delicious.
I found Bluecoat gin out of Philadelphia. Likewise it carries itself very nicely neat or in a cocktail....
