I have seen a lot of strip kits on Ebay and I am wondering if they are just junk or if people commonly use them and they're ok... I have a '70 Dart that is gonna have a 383, 727, 8 3/4 set up, and would like to have the bumblebee stripe on the rear of the car...
So, can anyone give me advice on this? I am on kind of a budget on this build, and am not sure I can go full bore on everything... Advice? Experience with kits:???:???

as long as it says 7 yr automotive vinyl,3M or something similar
your probably o.k.
there is a supplier in BC Canada that offers stripes for around
$50 Canadian...but i don't know the quality

Yes, the ones I was looking at certainly did say 7 year 3m vinyl... But, I wasn't sure if vinyl stripe kits were what people used normally, or if they had the stripe painted on, or what???

stripes were applied after paint by Ma Mopar.
If you want it correct they were all matt ...not gloss, but you can
do whatever you prefer.

I wouldn't recommend a NOS stripe either. A vinyl stripe that has been laying on a shelf or folded up in a box for 40+ years can't be a good one.

Challenger Gary +1. It takes a very good taper and painter to not get bleed in some of the painted stripes I've seen. A little leak through the tape looks pretty bad on a real nice paint job. 7 year 3M will last 30 years if you keep them in the garage like most of us are fortunate enough to do.

Yeah, I could see hoe painting it might be pretty expensive n risky... I am a residential/commercial painter, but don't know a whole lot about care painting...

use good, NEW 3M painters tape. Let the tape get warm,.clean the surface then use a rubber bondo squeegee over your tape lines or hire a good painter..

Mine has a vinyl stripe on it. Put on by the previous owner. Looks good. Holds up. Better than some of the paint has.

I will add in another vote for Challengergary. He makes some excellent quality vinyl stripe kits, and you can generally customize as you would like as well.

I have Challengergary's stripes on my Duster. I like them! Another vote from me. He also has custom stripes too!
