Stumbling Slant --what is left??

Yes, the plugs were recommended as one of the "easy /6 improvements" on .org. I have been using them for quite a few years.

Anyway, to put a coda on this thread, when I looked at the Dart with a friend on Friday, I noted that the vacuum advance wasn't doing anything to the engine idle. So I pulled the distributor the next day, and I find the points are burned, moving contact almost totally worn away, showing signs of heating up. They look like 10,000 mile points, not 100 mile points. So I am guessing that the "brand new" cardone condenser in the brand new distributor was a POS. I installed a NOS condenser I had and and new Echlin points, and the thing fires right up when I barely tap the starter. And it is back to it's old not-stellar-but-fine-for-me performance. I then took a Louisville Slugger and sent the cardone condenser into LEO.

Thanks to all that took the time to provide all the advice. I'm so happy to be able to putter to work again.

Bill
