Summit has trick flow heads

Any way to find out what the specs on the various offered springs are? "max .680 lift" and "hydraulic roller cam" doesn't tell me much...
It's all right here. Scroll down after opening link or read below:

http://www.trickflow.com/pressreleases/powerport240cylinder/

Valve Springs, Standard: 1.460" o.d. dual spring with damper
120 lbs. @ 1.900" installed height
394 lbs. @ 1.175" open
390 lbs. per inch rate
.650" max. valve lift

Valve Springs, Optional: 1.550" o.d. dual spring
138 lbs. @ 1.950" installed height
430 lbs. @ 1.250" open
420 lbs. per inch rate
.680" max. valve lift

Too hard, that would entail common sense....

:bootysha:

I'm sure you have all kinds of free time to call... and $2000 burning a hole in your pocket. I don't have either at the moment, but thanks for the snark.

If you were applying YOUR "common sense" you would have realized that my question was really a comment on the uselessness of Summit's catalog entry. It's equally obvious to me that I could have called the manufacturer. Jeez.

Trick flow has the specs on their website.

The solid roller springs are really serious. 240 on the seat and 500 lb/inch rate so 600 lbs over the nose with a .700 lift cam.

The solid roller setup comes out of the box with 2.00 installed height which is great. It takes a bunch of work to get that much installed height on some of the other heads on the market. A 2.00 installed height can handle .850 lift with a Manley 221424 spring. Not sure what the rocker arm geometry looks like at that lift so it might not be practical, but on paper it works.

People need to remember that these TF heads will have a 78cc chamber so the CR will be higher than with the Edelbrock RPM heads.

The more I think about it I just may buy a pair cause the way it's going I won't be able to build what I want.A 600 horse 470 on pump gas with a 100 shot will be slow but won't have to work on it a lot.Next year I might run dragweek

I'm rounding up the parts for a pump gas 470 that will use the TF heads. I'm shooting for 650 hp with a 850 DP carb. It might make even more than that depending on how big of cam I slide in there.

I have a question on thier Facebook page about the relese date of July ... have not heard anything yet .... I had my solid roller cam ground to the 78cc combustion chamber size ... should be fun ... :D

Now I'm thinking of B1bs or ez

I think the TF heads would be better than the EZ heads if you're going to run them as std ports. If you want max wedge size ports then the EZ heads would be the way to go. I don't know much about the B1-BS heads. Haven't seen any of those for a really long time.

My MCH ported aluminum Mopar 452 heads flow 328/268 which is basically the same as the new Trick Flow heads. But those cost a lot more than what TF is pricing theirs at.

my victor knock-offs flow 352 @ .600----------------------------:D:)

Too bad the Edelbrock engineers didn't put a longer valve in the Victor head. The Trick Flow heads come out of the box with 2.00 installed height. I think the last set of Victor heads I worked on only had 1.800 installed height?

On Trickflow's Facebook page on the left side column they answered the guy above me and said it would be like Sept or Oct .... so I'm going to look at EZ's .... EDIT: just ordered EZ's from Muscle Motors with CNC work

Yeah...thanks summit for getting my hopes up by putting in your catalog.....

I contacted Summit and Trick Flow this morning. They say the heads won't be available until October.
