Super six air cleaner in early A

Hi all,

Will a super six air cleaner fit under the hood (and pad) of my 63 Dart?

I have there now a custom cleaner which is A LOT smaller than the original 1bbl one, I wonder if the 2bbl 225 is getting enough air thru it. When I press the acc pedal quickly it hesitates badly for a second, sometimes the engine totally stops which is kinda annoying in traffic. Sure it can be a zillion other things as well.

Yes, and I doubt that the air cleaner is causing the drivabilty problems.

You could try driving without the air cleaner for a bit just to eliminate the possibility. But I agree it's more likely to be the mixture or the kickdown adjustment or something else.

Oh, BTW I fit a 318 2bbl air cleaner under the hood of my Barracuda on top of the super six setup. Rubs the pad but it fits.

Thanks for a tip! Thought about one too but the super six cleaner showed up for practically nothing so it is worth a try I guess. And I doubt it will solve anything too, that'd be way too easy

The super six air cleaner is on and acceleration definitely feels better. Not a huge difference but noticable.
