Hi all, its not an abody, but i suspect you will have the answer. I'm attempting to install an a833 from a 71 dart (a body tailhousing) into an 84 d150 1/ton. I knew the tailhousings were shorter on an a body, but assumed/thought the cross member mounting pad would be the same on all tailshafts. the pad on this housing ends up being a few inches short (insert jokes here)

can anyone help me understand if the crossmember pads changed throughout the years on the a833, or if i potentially have the whole set 2" forward of where it should be (which puts my engine into the firewall).

The tailshaft pads are all in the same location, relative to the engine/ bellhousing split line on all 727, 904 and long / short 833s and OD 833s.

Either you have the transmission crossmember flipped around, or the mount in the crossmember backwards, or bad mounts (engine and or transmission), or the engine mounts are not on the block correctly.
