We brought the engine in from my Orange Duster. It was freshened couple of years ago to put in another car. We decided to to go to Higher compression and lighter rotating assembly. The only thing we are reusing is the bare Block and bare heads and the valve covers. All the rest of the parts will go on the shelf for customers builds. The engine was fresh and never fired. The rockers are 1.5 we are going to 1.6. Valves and retainers will be titanium, new pistons are 13-1 Here are pictures of whats coming out . oil pan is new. as are the valves and push rods. Timing chain and cover is being replaced with a belt drive.

Some pics of the new offset short lifters next to the old center style long. Really changes the pushrod angle and moves them away from the intake port for more room to clean up.

Also new 1.6 rockers next to the 1.5 also helps move the push rod away from the head.

Pretty serious stuff. What block is that?

Here are pics of the new conical springs next to the old springs. Also weights of the lighter titanium parts . The lifters not only help pushrod angle they are lighter. Also tie bar is away from the block for more clearance. Springs are much lighter and better retainer to rocker clearance. Rollers have larger diam pins and no needle bearings to fail.

So what is this new engine gonna go in?

Wow that's a pretty extreme angle for those pushrods.
The push rod on the right is with the new lifter. Both lifters are on their base circles in the picture. You can see how much straighter it is. The lifter bores will be bushed, recessed and chamfered for pushrod clearance. They do not touch but are close. This Engine for over 6 years was taken over 9000 and the only wear we saw on the engine was the pushrod ends. We are hoping the lighter and straighter parts will help with HP, Torque, and wear. I can't wait until we weight the new rods and crank next to the old parts coming out. it will also get a belt drive with a aluminum damper. None of the new parts or old parts in the engine will be reused. The only thing we are using is the bare head castings, valve covers and the block. everything else that was on this engine is being replaced. If finances allow I would like to get and HRE sheet metal intake , The are right up the road. $4k

As light as we can make it. New 17" bead locks and front runners on there way. We alr also ditching the new tires and wheels on the car. We can use them on the Valiant. Bought every Glass piece available including the dash and aluminum rear bumper brackets.

I have to finish this gold Demon for a friend and then I am going to get my other shell which is buried in a trailer out and painted so I have something to work on while my son is finishing the chassis and engine on the Race Demon.

I have everything for the street demon ready for the car. I just need the shell in paint. The guy I sold the Bronze Duster , Who is painting this Gold Demon when I am done with the sheet metal. He is going to take my shell and paint it for assembly.

My son found some nice alternator brackets to mount on the motor plate. or fuel pump cover. I like 1 and 3 but use it with the adjustment bar on 2
