the crack pipe was in Daytona

I have bad news. If that has a nice straight rust free body and nice original interior, I'd a paid that in a minute IF it was up in this area.

Oh, yea, I don't use illegal drugs, either

You need to start checking the craigslists in California then. Those cars routinely go for $500-1000 here. Most are rust free as well.

That looks to be a clean Signet, yet a clean 66 Chevelle or Mustang in the same condition would be bought up in a day for that price and this is partially the fault of mopar enthusiasts such as yourselves for wanting everything as cheap as you can get it. You can fight me in every word but you lose the battle as you just don't get it

A Mustang or Chevelle are popular body styles. The early A bodies just are not that popular. Trust me, I know. Look at my avatar, that is my 66 Valiant.

He didn't say anything about transporting, he said if it was in his area that he would pay asking price...
exactly Einstein I was referring to the people telling him to shop in their area or yours, add your $1500 valuation to the mileage cost to ship to him and that price is pretty close to what a clean car is worth in his area .We don't all live where these cars are plentiful and cheap such as yourself so we have to factor the extra cost of shipping and also transporting ourselves to see the car first hand and make the deal in person when we are deciding if something is priced right or not , but on the plus side our parents aren't as likely to be first cousins either

I agree with the tire god however that this market is hurting the prices pretty hard and the 66 signet is not the big money body style ,the last couple that sold around me were around $4,500 , a neighbor sold hers for $4,000 but it was missing some trim and was starting to bubble on the quarters which is also about par for the course around here , so yes I too would pay that price for a clean roller , scrap the current motor for a good v8 and drive it till I die

I've owned early A Body Valiants every now and then since 1965

I just want to let you know that I was offered a minimum of 25 g's on more then 1 occasion for my 64 Signet, 12 or so years after I built it to the way I wanted it. Before that I had a sleeper 66 2 door rusted to the max with a 318 roller motor and 4 speed along with a 65 Barracuda where I sunk the top down 7 inches into the read quarters and cut the windshield and wound up giving it to a friend as a present. Persons back then complained to me stating I ruined a classic car and I said then 'a classic car worth 1500 at the most' in stock form.

I just cannot see where the early A bodies with all they have to offer in the way of less weight, good looks and simple modifications, where persons want them for as cheap as they can get them stand here and say they are not popular when in reality, they are what you make them to be just like any other older vehicle which isn't a collectors car. Life it what you make of it just like the car you drive :)

Very well put

I had my 66 signet with the fresh 318 with swirl heads small cam, overdrive four speed, headers and duals to the back, power steering, new tires with slotted wheels,COLD A/C ,10inch drum,8 3/4 sure grip for sale here for 3000 . . . .with much less rust than the crack pipe signet ,and got offers of 1500 -1800. ???? but the crack pipe signet is worth $3,800 with a bad engine ,7 1/4 inch rear, small brakes, manual steering ,no a/c ,and dry rotted tires ,none of the gauges worked ??? still scratchin my head on this one :toothy10:
and if you look closely, the grille is all smashed on the one side

If you would give $3,800 for that car that would make two fools on this thread.... I base my openion on the U.S. market not a world wide market.. If you can't buy nothing but junk in canada for $3,800 maybe you should drive a few miles south to buy a car that actually runs and drive it back or buy you a scooter...

I'm just telling you what they sell for here Joe if I wanted one I would probably have already bought one ,Yours did look nice and I'm sorry you got nothing but low ball offers because it was worth every penny .As for the you hornet You still don't get that it costs money and time {which is also money in my case about 40 bucks an hour } to drive south to buy a car then more money to ship it north ,and your basing your value on the Southern US market not the entire US market certainly not the rust belt , but now I'm being foolish by trying to explain that to a tard-Have a nice day

The guys in California are giving lower value on the '66's than I am, look at a U.S. map and see how far North Carolina is from Cali..

Heres a NICE '66 Valiant for $3,700 in the for sale section here on FABO and the guy is having a hard time selling it, it's 10x nicer than the blue one runner posted for $3,850... You obviously don't know how to put a value on a mopar...

I here ya all and no Offense to al lof us, but prices are nuts even for something almost junk.

That car looks decent, but again time you get a good engine, maybe trans work, fix leaks etc, you maybe have 8-10k in that car.

Sure if it is what you want i say go for it, but it is the crazzy high$$$$$ everything goes for that make out hobby so freaking expensive.

Does seem high to me just saying, and it looks ok, but anyone can paint a car to look fair, it is the mechanical that is the real value right???
