Crank polished. My other forged crank will have to be turned. Luckily this one didn't need anything more.
The particular block that I will be using was cast on May, 18th. 1971. Based on the time in a 24 hour day, I'm 18 minutes younger than this block. Technically, it's possible this block was still cooling off the moment I was born.
The car I'll be using this in is a '67 Barracuda which is the same year my parents got married. I think it's a sign.

Cool, I hope it goes well.

Thanks. I'll be following the same specs that my cousin used in his 500hp 440.
I'll actually be using his 915 heads with 1.81 exhaust valves, gasket ported intake and exhaust.
Forged flat top pistons and crank. But I'll be using a few different things.
2x4 intake, Carter primary and secondary AFBs.
Mancini try Y headers.

I'll put stiffer springs on the back and bigger torsion bars. No carpet padding and minimal insulation. 3:55 suregrip, but I will be adding a complete original air conditioning system.
With a 273 it was a 2,800 pound car.

You might want to add caltracs to the back , is this going to be a cruiser ? Or street strip? Bigger torsion bars might hurt your quest for 10s but be better for driving around town.

It will be over 3200 lbs with A/C, 440 steel heads, 8 3/4?….

I have doubts it would actually be 2800 lbs before with 273 and A/C. But, did you weigh it on scales and got 2800 lbs?

It will be primarily a street cruiser. I'd like to take it to the track on occasion. I'm not familiar with caltracs.

It was a non A/C car before. 2800 pounds was listed on the title. I'll be using a fiberglass hood and possibly front fenders, maybe even the front bumper too.

The second machine work you should have done is side bolt main caps. mopar 383 , 400 and 440 all have weak blocks . All 426 hemis were fittid with side bolt mains. Also 440 mega block were side bolt. One things to remember is Raised block caps take 7/16 bolts 383 , 400 take 3/8, "440 source" caps are junk . Milodon are very good they are what my son uses. Here is a picture of the Milodon caps being installed. even though they are new don't assume they have a straight surface. The last picture shows how far they were off.

Those title weights are not accurate. That might be the weight of a generic Barracuda with absolute minimum options: slant 6, manual steering, 3 spd manual column shift, 7 1/4 rear, 9" drum manual brakes, bench seat, no radio, etc

My non A/C small block with aluminum: heads/intake/water pump, power steering, 727 Auto, 8 3/4, aluminum rims, manual disks, aluminum master cyl, on digital scales is 3209 pounds.

That's beautiful. It's a shame it won't be seen.
Thanks for the tips. It will all get down to money, or in my case, lack there of.

I'm sure it will be heavier than what the title says. I will compensate what I can where I can. I'll still be able to eat the lunch of many of the other cars on the road.
