I’ve got plenty of room on front bottom lip with it bent 3” back.

If I can run 18x9.5 with 5.25” backspacing on front…. Then I’d try 18x10.5 with 6.25” backspacing. So same front side depth, just wider rim… and wider tire.

What’s available in 295/35/18 to 305/35/18 ?? :D

I don't see why not! I don't think I could run your current set up even with my fenders rolled and pushed as they are and I have plenty of room for 275's.

Unfortunately the 295/35/18 field seems to be narrowing a bit, but there's still RE050A's, Pilot Super Sports, F1's, Advan A052's, Invo's, Proxes and Extreme Contact Sports, so you've got street options from 140 to 300 treadwear still.

305/35/18's only have a couple of race only tires like the R888R, but they're only 100 for treadwear. They'd also be 26.4" tall, which I think would cause even your car issues. I know on mine, lowered as I am and running the qa1 LCA's I only have a smidge over 13" from center of spindle to the low spot on my inner fender, so 26" tall up front is about as high as I can go unless I want contact before I run out of compression travel.

Plenty of caliper clearance, probably about 3/8" before any contact. When I ordered I was asked about the clearance, the 17's and cast 18" have about 1.45" max clearance so those might not work but the custom 2 piece ones have 1.75" of clearance.

Nice! So, if I want ET's with my new Viper kit they'll probably have to be the 2 piece kind up front...

Well since we’re reviving an old thread. Here’s my junk.

I’m by no means a pro at anything and I don’t give tours, but I drive the **** out of my car and beat on it like it owes an money. Does that make me pro-touring?

I don't know what it makes you, but your car's badass.
It’s even better in person! I don’t know how many times I looked that car over at MoParty and something new would jump out to me every time. And he did it all himself! Absolutely impressive

That car should be a template of how to do a pro touring car. It's not over the top at all, but it has all the ques that you know what it is and what it's capable of. He knocked it outta the park.

Took my junk up Mt. Lemmon yesterday since I had the day off. Not sure if it really qualifies as pro touring. But I do take it to autocross sometimes and have fun on twisty roads with it.

1.14" bars, QA1 LCAs, SPC UCAs, Fox 2.0 adjustable shocks, Hellwig Front and Rear Sway bars, Hotckis Leafs/Strut Rods/Steering rods, Borgeson steering box. But still has a bench seat and 15x7 steelies :)

All that's left to turn that into a real track terror is modern low-profile performance tires. I need shocks and UCAs on my Duster (avatar pic) and I'll pretty much have the same setup as you, plus wheels and tires.

I'm pro touring if I drive that 6 mi. into town, and BACK. I caught that 1 traffic light the county owns and it did slow down my progress,... some.

Yeah I had some 18" mustang wheels I ran at autocross a couple times but I don't like the look. I would go for some 17" or 18" wheels if I could decide on some that I like the look of. I almost went with some larger steelies since I like the look but am just using the 15" cop wheels with dog dish hubcaps until I make my mind up some day.

I know the struggle it took me a while to find affordable wheels with a style I liked. I'm really happy with the way my Mustang FR500 wheels look on my car. I get a lot more attention now too especially from younger people, dare I say girls lol. Had more than a few cuties roll down their window and say "I love your car!!" which felt weird because for many years running 15" Rallyes with fatty RWL tires I only got that from guys, and mostly older guys at that lol.

I'm not that much into the Pro Touring look. But I'm into the touring performance.

I compliment you on your honesty though. Most Pro Touring projects are about the look with thier skinny rubber band tire, heavy rims, air bag low rider suspensions and all.

I'm going to 17x9 rims soon so I can get good tires and bigger/better brakes.

I’ve always like your car Steve. It’s a fun car yet functional for driving around the streets of LA.

I'm not sure if mine is pro touring, but it's built how I want and what works for me.

I still need to figure out some new leaf springs for the rear, and redo the exhaust to get a bit more ground clearance, my headers are HUGE and the collectors scrape occasionally. I have a faster ratio steering box sitting on the shelf for it, and am about to pull the 727 out, really searching for a 4 speed (or more) to put in its place.
