update stole a wiper swich . I dread the day i have to give back the things i stole lol . But any way . Ive had the best day ive had in years yall know ive been in a funk and have been having moeny problems . well i still have money problems but . Today was the best . My brother came home for a week ! .

To tell you some thing . I just got back i put over 300 miles on her today . I went to see my other famliy and got really really lost lol . thank god most of the roads we was on was good . She got alittle hot cuz i started to push her harder when i found out we was 70 miles from where we needed to be lol so i ran 70 mph . (speed limt ) pulled over let her cool found out if we was going the right way this time lol never had anuther problem with it at 65 mph that 5 mph more and she dont like it i think some timing and a tune would help . . 300 miles non stop on a parts car in upper 80s wether . muggy as all get out lol . Yup its a parts car!

I haven't had a slant in 20 years or more but will
never forget how they will loosen up and make more power than they ever did right before slinging their guts. I lost every slant 6 I ever owned on the interstate always with the shortest and most subtile warning.
True story for you to keep in mind, they don't like being pushed to hiway speeds for long. Hope it doesn't happen this way for you.
Easy goes it.
 
is it #5 rod that is know to escape the block? doesn't matter which one!! we all know the slant can take lots of abuse and still keep going for untold miles, and I figure it will run forever even with the sorriest oil and no care, but hauling a** down the highway when wore out is not good! lol

when I had the 225 in the decoy I drove it to Biloxi a couple times to Cruizin the Coast at 70-75 mph with 276 rear gears. It didn't miss a lick
 
Thanks guys she seems to like the high way more then in town drivng . When i get her going lol . She still has some kinks to work out . But she did ok . I will not be taking her that far again any time soon . just too many old parts still left to fix . Like my Fuel pump is weak. It let me know that a few times . Still fighting the little stuff keep in mind this is all i have to drive right now . So got to fix it when i can .

some needed maintenance ahead of time.
I enjoy you keeping us posted, its like going back in time when reading your post. Defiantly been where you are when I was younger.

Ok i aint got the quote thing down with this format . But the speedo rolled over on the trip back . already put anuther 100 miles on it lol . But any way . Things i know i need to fix . The muffler is rotted out and held up by bailing wire (i didnt do it ) Its starting to come in the car . FUEL pump , shocks, Im starting to hear a wheel barring in in the front . We just repacked them when the brakes was done. We also need a pcv . Then every mount in the sucker needs changed . Then we need plugs . Yup shes raggy but she runs lol . Im working on 20 bucks a month. So ya lol

Ok had alittle extra gas so i went to a cruiz in . One that really rides not just sits and stare at you car alots of fun . More later

New fuel pump on order and new plugs ready to slap in time to get rid of the 20 year old plugs for !
 
Well I found out what my main problem was . the carb bolts had backed off soI got that fixed and she runs better . I cant beleave it was that simple . I still dont think the fuel pump is long for the world and it was only 20 bucks . so im going to go head and change it . I just cant beleave it was that simple its never that EZ for me lmao
