I'm restoring my 65 Barracuda S and was wondering what muffler best duplicates the original exhaust sound. From what I have read, the muffler was a straight through design but is not available as a repo.
This is one terrific forum and a great place to get the "real scoop" on the A-Body cars. Thanks
Nice car there Cudaman. What cam are you running? toolman

I did that very same thing! I got a crossover remember that someone had manufactured another indent for the passage of the second pipe and I crossed them over and went out of the single exhaust cut out with the tip that allowed two pipes!Might as well go with duals off the stock manifolds. ;)

I put dual exhaust on my four barrel 273, I obtained a crossover member that someone had indented for another pipe, crossed both of them over and went out the stock cut out into a tip that accepted both pipes look just like the original tip!Gee, you guys are smart. I always thought duals would be better. I was going to run duals on my Formula S but maybe I need to stop and think about it. The single is shot and I have everything from another car to run duals from the manifold to the rear. I am really into going back original if I can.
Thanks for the info.
Your quoting people who haven`t been on in 7 years and another who passed away.I put dual exhaust on my four barrel 273, I obtained a crossover member that someone had indented for another pipe, crossed both of them over and went out the stock cut out into a tip that accepted both pipes look just like the original tip!
