Thermostat housing leaking

Did u check the manifold surface/ Mine was pulled from overtightening. Filed it flat, and chucked the housing up in a lathe and cut about .060-.070 off of the flange/ stopped when I GOT TO THE INNER EDGE OF THE BOLT HOLES, CREATING A RAISED GASKET SURFACE BY REMOVING THE OUTER PART, around the holes. Think I said that right ! Also made my own gaskets, the rad. cap is too stout for a reg. gasket too. Probly need to get a 14 or 15 pound cap. But it`s holding now.

I put together about 3 slant cars in a row, together, all 3 had pin hole leaks in the thermostate housing ( aluminum).

Curiosity question, what did the DLI intake manifold start out as (whose brand of what intake) before it got converted to the 144/174 topped off conversion?
