I have a 69 Dodge Dart with 75 duster disc brakes on the front. Do I need to get 1975 tie rods? Are they different than the 69? Thanks Dustin

So far as I know they are "or can be" the same.

The disk brakes are not what screws things up

The 4 parts that must "go together, and this is regardless of the actual car year, or the K member (68--76) is the steering box, pitman, idler, and center link.

The whole deal with later/ early boxes (big/ small pitman shaft) is the center link, pitman and idler. Everything else fits. I guess the exception is the 67 K member which has a "different" idler mount, so I'm not sure there is any way to adapt a later idler to a 67 K, at least without fabrication/ welding, which at least one member on here did.

So look at your center link where the studs come up through for the idler and the pitman. Are the nuts that hold them on top or on the bottom of the center link?

Early setup has nuts on top:

Late linkage has nuts on bottom:

early and late are different...i think one, maybe the 70's has a beefier ball and socket
and was an upgrade, but i can't remember which.I think you can use either.( 4 early or 4 later)
..some one on here who knows for sure will chime in

The tierods are different too. One set has the pins go up, and on the other the pins go down. I never remember which is which.Because of this up/down thing, the operating angles are different, and that leads to the relationship of the pins to the threaded stumps being different.
