Since EVERY car made has parts from other countries, what would be good to see is how much of the final price paid stayed in the US. Especially in the hands of the employees that worked on it, sold it etc. Even money going back into the company. Now if it is filling the vaults of gazillionair CEO's and other execs, it's almost as bad as going to some foreign company's headquarters on the other side of the planet

Of course the profits go back to Japan. And to the stockholders. But I was never talking about profits. Besides, other than the stockholders, how do the profits of any large corporation help anyone but the already wealthy company owners /presidents? Whether it's Akio Toyoda with a net worth of $1 billion, or Henry Ford III with a net worth of $200 billion, all that money doesn't help me or you in any way.

What about all the acres and acres of unsold last years vehicles slowly rotting away some where that we keep seeing pop up on the I-net; is there truth to that, and if yes, then who is paying for that?
and more importantly, why are they just sitting there?

As long as you're not buying off-shore stuff with your hard earned American money. That would be a bonus to start with

No truth to it. It's the same picture(s) over and over, and they are just holding lots for the 1000s of cars that are unloaded from the huge ships.

Put a 100% tariff on all parts made in other countries that are used on vehicles sold in the US. To include Domestic auto makers.

If you really want to be frightened, look into the finance world and see who owns most of our - The United States) debt.

Maybe I’m talking out my arse, but it seems we, as a country, have lost the ability to produce goods consumed by the world. When we started losing our steel mills in Pennsylvania when I was a kid it became evident that other countries were getting better at producing manufactured steel items then we were in this country. We don’t hardly produce anything anymore. If we ever had to go to war with another country, we would be sadly embarrassed.

And we demand higher wages to do the same thing as they do so where are you going to have it built. It's all about $$$$$$$. The only way we can win is to outsmart them at their own game. Not saying to take a drop in pay but work smarter and ditch the I don't give a &$#@ attitude. Plain and simple

Poor old Australia did not even get on the board at any stage we had 3 major manufacturers until last year all being under the 3 majors of the US being Chrysler, Fraud and GM, plus a number of smaller sports car type manufacturers, i thought through the 1960 to 1980 period we might have at least registered once
