So I finally got some 14" SBP steelies for my '64 Valiant 'vert. They are 4.5" wide. After reading most everything on FABO, I've decided to get 205/70/14 tires. The chart at the tire shop says 5" width wheels are needed for the 205s, I'm thinking that, based on other FABO members, it shouldn't be a problem. Should I go ahead and get this size, what do you guys think?

TIA

Dan

I say go ahead and do it. they will fit just fine.

After further research, and seeing that the 205 needed a 5-7" wheel, with 6' maybe optimal, I went with 195/70/14 tires. They seem to have the period look, and I hope they work out. BFG Advantage TAs, I think we pay quite a bit more up here in the north, but the old girl needed new boots, and there's no reason for her to sit. I'll post before and afters later.
And, thanks for your input, Rocker Dude.

Your SBP rally's are actually 5.5" wide (if they are factory rally's) So your 195 70s will be fine.
