Okay, I know you will think I'm nuts, well I'm sure the government already does so hey, y'all might as well too.

Anyways, I am getting a little tired of having too much traction with my Miickey Thompson sportsman pro's for the street.

I can light them up but they grab and hook to well and I'd like to send the car sideways from time to time if ya know what I mean.

I have noticed that my rear tires are getting pretty bald and I am losing traction and the results have been rather fun to say the least.

My question is what tires would yall recommend for the street?

Personally I respect a car that hooks a lot more than one that wont go straight. I say keep the traction... but yeah the radials will give you the effect you want.

If you want loss of traction Cudaspaz for some reason T/A radials are the way to go. They are great for corning & regular driving but will ignite at will. Had them on my cuda for a month and had to get rid of em. Would ignite like a john force burnout at 60 mph just downshifting or hitting the kickdown.Must admit smoking the tires at highway speed did pump the adrenaline level but boy those things are slick.

Traction is what you want!

Nothing puts off a wrx faster than when you dump
that clutch at 5000 rpm at a set of lights an hes spinning
balls on how you managed to wholeshot hes 4wd...

I miss slicks on the street, broke axles tho.

I run the Sportsman Pro's as well. I love the fact that the car just hooks and goes. I don't think I would like it as much if the car was a dog out of the hole though.

Yeah, I know, everyone and their brother tries to beat you at red lights even if they are driving a minivan.
I just take my time unless there is a wusstang or crumaro next to me then I just give them a quick jump to let them know I'm all business then I back off and let them feel like they won.
I definitely do not want to be drag racing morons on the street and getting a bad rep with the local cops.

I will have to think about this more as far as traction goes.
So far the idea of more traction makes more sense.

I ran 325-50-15s on my 69 Barracuda at first then later switched to a 275-60-15 M/T Drag radial and was much happier. The smaller tire actually hooked just as good (which I know isnt what your after) and fit a lot better.

I,ve got TA,s for the street and M/T drag radials for the track. The TA,s are like grease when you get into it!I do miss having traction on the street, stangs and maro,s still reading my plate though.LOL

I was going to switch from Mickey Thompson ET Street to the Sportsman Pro for running on the street, but a friend with a 440 Challenger, 4.88 rear gears, says he gets no traction with the Sportsman Pro. Lately my ancient (12 year old) ET Street tires are spinning like crazy...... then they HOOK and I'm gone! Right now I'm running 4.56 rear gears and as soon as I get a spool and good axles, the 5.38 gears are going back in. Gas mileage be damned!!!!
