I'm in the process of putting quarters on my 67 Cuda vert. How do you take the top loose where it meets the quartes?

Have you pulled the rear seats and trim panels? Some vehicles, and I don't know about the older 'vert's, have the lower portions of the top held in by wooden pieces screws or bolted underneath, along with sharp prongs to catch the fabric on the sides.

Remove the back seat and the arm rests.

Remove the well liner, just snapped in

There are 3 sets of metal strips, one on each side and one long one across the back. Many long screws, go slow they screw into non replaceable welded in nuts.

  1. TAKE LOTS OF PHOTOS
  2. KEEP EVERYTHING ORGANIZED
  3. THERE ARE ACORN NUTS BEHIND SOME OF THE TRIM / SEAL ATTACHING POINTS
  4. THERE ARE 1,000,000 STAPLES
  5. DO NOT destroy the old top, keep it as much together as you can.

IDK about 67, but my 65 FSM had the complete procedure for both the Dart and Coronet in it
