I need to install the 2 upper shock mounting bolts that go thru the trunk and the nut is accessed thru the trunk, any estimate for a torque spec. on the nut? I looked in the manual and can find no reference for the torque.
Thanks!

Bolts / nuts are torqued based on the size of the bolt / nut, thread pitch and grade of item. Anyways 30-40 pounds would be good. Aka good in tight.

This is from 67 FSM

Thank You Dana for the information! I looked in suspension but not the shock section. I must have overlooked the Shock section in the index.
Sorry, it was on a 69 Dart, 9/16" fine thread, grade 3 crush nut.

I do it all the time.

What gets me is some torque specs are in the chart, some are in the text of the procedure. Sometimes they call the part a name I have never heard of before.

:)
