Torque or horsepower?

After 650 ft. lbs. it's nothing but a winkie measuring contest anyway. And to think how the lowly 6v71 Detroit had to make do with 218 HP and 600 Ft. lb. to pull a 40 foot trailer up the highway.
.
Wasn't that the Detroit that had fuel injection turbocharged and supercharged.

them 2 stroke driptriots got more done with less power than any work horse motor ever! a good 8v71 make that 218 look like a mini mule, but now a 12v71 didnt have to climb mountains,..it could just move them!
One day soon pickup customers will "need" 4 figure torque.

This one is available to stuff in someone's pickup.

reading through makes me think Tractor. lol if it wasn't for gearing for drivability the 1000# torque would be useless

Dude. That thing is bad! How much.

Those Detriots were all 2 cycle engines. (like a Lawn Boy) Did you ever see one run away? They can run off the crankcase oil until it runs out or you shut off the air.
At about 2 min....WFO!

390 with a Crane 699611. (214/222° 276/284° .488/ .509 112°) Hard to see on cell phone I'm sure. 342 hp @ 4500
533 tq @ 2000

and a very useful tool in the right hands! to bad our us military bought the rights from detriot and still use them today! along with the VT903 cummins motors!!!

Those old 2 strokers were one, two, three, four and six cylinders, and the V-types six, eight, 12, 16 and 24 cylinders.. N/A,supersharged and super/turbocharged. Because they are 2 cycle, they do sound sweet.
