Ok, I've read that the bolt for the harmonic balancer is suppose to be 135 lb
one source a book the other the net..
Could someone who has done this, confirm that number and also
how did you hold the engine from rotating... the bell housing on the Ford transmission
are a little different then the Chysler.. I tried just using a long screw driver to hold
the fly wheel, but I could not get any movement not he Bolt and did not want to take the
chance of breaking a tooth of the fly wheel.
Any input is appreciated.

Yes that number is right, and is important to reach that torque; that 'locks' the damper to the crank so it can do its job of damping internal crank vibrations. I have used vice grips locked onto the flexplate/flywheel and bumped against the block.

locking the vise grips had enough force to hold the fly
wheel? Don't think I can do that, as the fly wheel
sets a little ways back from the inception opening..
thanks for the info
