I have a 68 Cuda 4 speed I am building , its a driver mild build What do you guys think of the Torque storm unit , thinking of 5 psi boost tops 450 hp drive it on the highway , take a trips kind of car . I have fire breathing N/A dragons and all the issues that come with driving them long distance or getting stuck in traffic and having to idle for long periods , but looking to build a driver this time, fun
I used to live in Lockport right across from St.Dennis catholic school on Washington street. At the time had a 68 formula S cuda 340 4-speed. Early nineties
A friend of mine has a TorqueStorm on his 68 Fastback 340 stroker engine. He loves it and drives it everyday during the summer months. Jack
THis is why I like big block A-bodies. Milder at any given HP level. 450hp in an Abody is plenty to have fun with and is capable of cracking into the 11's and forced induction will defineily make it a milder, more street freindly engine regardless of displacement. Is the SC you are looking at a roots type, or a centrifugal?
TS's are centrifugal...gear operated snails. You could get the geared snail on Alibaba for $180 last year but they are long gone.
I remember that then. It did make good power. You'da thought they'd put a real head gasket on it, like Cometic or some such. If I had the extra cash, I'd do it to my next build, as if I ran a thick head gasket, I could get compression to 8.7. I don't think that'd be too high for a blower.
True, but the heavy bumper guards were removed, added fiberglass hood, frame connectors and sound deadener.
Go build yourself a nice solid 360 or whatever with some good Pistons open the Gap up on the top ring put a 150 plate on it cruise around with 375 horsepower easy peasy then hit the button for 525 horse 550 foot pounds of torque on demand.
Bored 40 over 198 Molinar h beam rods Wiseco pistons Head ported Clifford 4 barrel intake Clifford shorty headers Torqstorm supercharger
I love my Torqstorm supercharger. I have a 360 magnum crate motor from Mopar performance division purchased in 2000. I put the supercharger on and it really added some extra pulling through all the gears. No cam change although I am going for aluminum heads to get a little more air going…lol
Don't worry about heads for more air. Get the cam right first. The forced induction takes care of the air part until you get up to some real serious horsepower. Jack
