Hello all! I'm having troubles with getting my torsion bar adjusting bolt to come lose, there's no bar in the lower arm at the moment and i need to lower the bolt some to get the torsion bar to insert where it goes. Ive tried penetration lubes but not heat. I just replaced all my balljoints and torqued and pinned them so I dont wanna remove it to lower the control arm and make the bar fit. I'm also likely going to want to lower the car a bit once it's together so they need to move. :poke:

That said, i get a minor turn loosening it with loud crack sounds from pressure im using, i tried impact and it started mucking up my control arm so I stopped with that. Is there any suggestions from vets with these bolts? I see I can buy replacements so worst come to worst, i can cut them out and replace but trying to get this together! =) would simple heat from torch and more lube do the trick? That and max pressure is my next hope, with hope not to break them.

Any tips are apprecaited!

The one in the LCA ? PB Blaster soak and wait a day. Make sure it stays soaked. Then some heat if need be. Threads look good on bolt?

Heating up the block the bolt screws through would do the trick. I just snapped off a bolt on one of mine with a 1/2" impact, so be careful of that.

I'll give this a whirl tomorrow after it continues to soak in some pb and get the other side sprayed. I was affraid i was going to break it with my 2foot bar

Threads look good, I didnt figure I'd have much trouble. I suspect there will be some resistance just to keep them in place like on other vehicles I've done the bars on but this is old and kinda crusty/rusty. I'll cook it tomorrow =)

Cut the bolt. Then give me your address I'll send you some for $10.00 a pair. plus shipping cost. Once you heat them the threads usually get gulled then they are junk. These parts were cleaned and headed to storage bin for the new shop use. I can send a set to Carlisle also
