Looking for a set of torsion bars for my 73 Valiant. Prev owner looks to have nicked the driver side with a cussing wheel, not good.

Either Stock or aftermarket used would be fine. Shipping would be to CA

Thanks

340 bars are about 20 lbs spring rate heavier than 318 bars, but A/C equipped 318 cars came with 340 bars...strange. Slant bars are 100 lbs, '340' bars are #120. 383 bars are #130. .990 bars are a common replacement and they are pretty firm by 1968 standards at #200.

So looks like they would be the same as my 318 AC car.

340 and 318 w A/C = 892/893 on the ends if you can read them. 318 bars are 890/891

Looks like miner are 892 893's also here is the nick I'm not too happy with.

While the nicks in your bars are not ideal, the bars are not likely to fail because of them. I'd leave em in, maybe treat bare metal to prevent rust starting, and keep on driving.

I think, if I didn't have a replacement bar on hand, I'd buff it out. But since I got a bunch to choose from..... I'd absolutely slide a replacement in there.
My brother borrowed my 73 Swinger for a summer, and brought it home early with a busted T-bar. Said it wasn't pretty when it happened. He blocked it up and drove it 60 plus miles back to my place for a free-replacement. The fender was ugly.

The FSM says to 'dress it down' with a stone so its not a stress riser and run it. Just smooth it out, that doesn't look that bad.
