Transmission problem when it rains it pours

Well onto the next problem with this old mopar. Randomly lost third gear today on my automatic it has a 318 in it but as for the transmission I don’t know much about it. I put it in drive and it will shift fine from 1-2 but third is gone it seems. Any tips?

Did you have your throttle pressure linkage attached and adjusted right?

I mean it’s on there but as for it working correctly I’m not sure it’s just loose on.

Is reverse still present?

I have everything but third it will still try to shift to third but when it does it just falls into neutral instead. It’s like if i revved it out of the 2 on the column then shifted to Drive but drive has just become neutral.

But does reverse engagement feel delayed?

Sometimes the front clutch burns up and warps so that you still have reverse, but not enough pressure for 3rd. Is your fluid dark and smelly? Anything in the bottom of the pan; like greasy mush?

This is my issue it actually got into 3rd gear once not in the video but after that it just kept sliding out into neutral.

My very inexperienced self is thinking it’s not building enough pressure to stay in 3rd/ switch to third but the gear is still alive.

Reverse and third both use the same clutch, but reverse has lots higher pressure.

Cuda asked earlier about the condition of the fluid. I'd be curious about that as well. I didn't seem to find your answer to that question.
