You are assuming that everywhere you go is a war zone. But that is incorrect. Your example is poorly applied.

Sig .40, single stack. Combat model, no saftie. 4.5 lbs on the first pull and 2 lbs on the second pull.
Drop safe with one in the pipe and the hammer down.

Dont leave home with out it....

Katrina should tell you everything you need to know. People are mostly good but some are bad and the only way to stop the bad ones is with overwhelming force.

Katrina was a rare circumstance of extreme devastation in an isolated area more than 15 years ago. Why anyone quotes it now as an example of current reality escapes me.

Nobody outside the immediate area of the crisis area needed any sort of extra protection.

The rest of the World today isn’t that place or that time.

That was a decent area, not a crazy high crime are like say east Oakland where thank god i don't live anymore but the point is when things went south, people went bad and it didn't take long.
So even tho i live in a very nice area and work in a decent area i still think (Proper Preparation Prevents Pispoor Possibilites)

I think the work you do is very good and you seem like a very nice guy so i don't choose to judge your choices as long as they dont affect me.

If you want to walk around with a stick of gum in your pocket and kissing door handles good on ya.

My self and my family will be protecting our selves be it with masks, gloves or firearms.

Anybody who does not accept the clear and obvious fact that the criminal element is only going to get bolder and greatly increase their activities during this crisis as sadly mistaken. If you do not wish to protect yourself, fine. But this sounds to me like you are making fun of someone who legally chooses to protect himself in accordance with the 2nd amendment. I applaud @67Dart273 for carrying as many guns as he wants. Paranoia has NOTHING to do with it. Those of us choose to carry do so for protection against thugs who have no compunction in using guns or knives against you. I am an excellent marksman. If someone breaks into my house or threatens myself or my family, they haven't got a chance. When a thug pulls a gun or knife on you, call the police and see what the response time is.

You are completely off base here in many respects. There is no such thing as a 'war one' or a 'time.' Yes there are places that are much more likely to be a war zone, and times that are more and less likely. But anyplace, anytime, and THAT is nto paranoia. It is fact. Some of the most brutal crimes I've heard of happened in a parking lot in the middle of the day, in a shopping center. Robberies. Muggings. Carjackings.

You are also over seriously taking what started out to be "light." I don't normally run around with 2 or 5 or 10 firearms strapped to myself. BUT I AM normally armed. And YOU would never know it.

Allow me to educate you further. I've been the victim of TWO attempted muggings in my lifetime. One was before self protection became legal in WA state, and the other was "at work."

The first was a LONG time ago, in the early 80's I was working in Spokane, or as some of us call it, "Spokamentro." There is a convenience store on the way to the freeway E 90 to go home. I stopped there sometimes going home for a bottled drink or water. One night I'd stayed late at work, late in the year, so I'm headed home after dark, perhaps 7-8PM. I pulled into this store lot, did not think a thing. Around the corner of the store comes two "gentlemen" AND THEY HEAD DIRECTLY FOR MY car. I had just stepped out, took one look, got right back in, and slammed the door. One of them came RIGHT up to the window, and by then it was running and in reverse. I didn't wait for more, slammed the throttle and backed up. Didn't even look if he was clear. THOSE PEOPLE were not lookin to become "my friends."
You had to be there. That was WAY too close for comfort

The second was in the late 90's. I was working, alone, after dark, at a tiny radio site down near Othello, WA called "RADAR Hill." Off in the trees not far away is some sort of itinerant housing and maybe trailers. I did not hear these three wetbacks approach........drunk. It was clear they were looking for trouble, and one of them was much bolder. We had been doing tower work and there was a piece of an antenna mount right there at the tower. I took a baseball swing at the guy, and I was intending to do serious damage. He moved some, and I hit his shoulder. The combination of the blow and him moving, and maybe alcohol, he fell down. I "recocked" and the second guy started to turn around. The guy in the back figured it out and he was already headed "out." By then the guy on the ground noticed the lack of support, so HE got up and left.

I WILL NEVER AGAIN if I have anything to say, be "without."

This is the site near Othello

My brother is usually armed. Someone asked him what he was afraid of. Absolutely nothing.

I put a S&W 645 on “layaway” about 8 months shy of my 21st birthday in Ashfield Massachusetts. I almost lost it in a legal misunderstanding in NY. Didn’t carry for a long time after that.
In 2010 a fellow was gored by a mountain goat in an area I liked to day-hike. I bought a cheetah to stow in a backpack and it’s been on me ever since. I use it a couple times a year to deter stubborn hogs. I am a little paranoid but I would argue that wild hogs are not as predictable as people generally.
Still have my S&W. It’s kinda like hauling a cylinder head around.
I’ve taken deer with both pistols.

Best of luck with or without your weapons. Carry. Dont carry. No reason to argue over it tho. I will stay out of this thread.

You are very wrong. This site is a place for people who like and/or own Mopar A Body cars to congregate and share comradery with each other by discussing whatever they want to discuss. I will grant you that the discussions are usually about our Mopars, but there are LOTS of non car discussions. If you see a topic you don't like, pass it by. That is what I would do. For instance, I do not like boxing or wrestling or country western music, but if that is what a topic is about (or has turned into), I am certainly not going to chime in with foul abusive language and tell them how stupid they are. The foul language and name calling is quite inappropriate.

That I can agree. I only use the site for knowledge about the cars and sometimes it seems way off the subject. Wish you'all the best!

im sure its different in every state

here in MI i only have to tell the officer, if they strike up a conversation with me

usually they ask to see license and registration and i say "sure, but im not reaching for it untill after i have told you there is a loaded gun under my arm rest"

im sure they know im licensed to carry one anyway
