Is there a trick to removing the trip odometer knob on the front of a 67 Barracuda dash. I'm attempting to disassemble the dash for cleaning and restoration and don't want to force it off. Any ideas?

Its threaded on "normally" ccw takes it off. Stubborn little prick, use needle nose to hold threaded shaft slightly?
Or maybe wrap some thread/string/leather boot lace around shaft?

For some reason as it’s been a while since I’ve removed mine but I keep thinking the knob doesn’t actually screw off isn there a small slotted screw that goes through the knob and threads on the stem To hold the knob on?

Ok never mind that’s the knob for clock setting stem on my bee:lol:

try what Steve recommended

Just remove the 2 screws that hold the instrument in the housing. Then you can get a grip on that stem and screw the knob off.

I can usually get them off by engaging the trip odometer and turn the knob quickly to the left.
