Just saw @318willrun do his van mileage video and saw something I'd like to try, a dash fan or trucker fan as I call them. Great video btw, you guys should check it out.

Anyone got pics of where they mounted theirs and if they're effective?

Thanks y'all,

My dad has one in his '66 Chevy. Pretty effective, but not as much as wing windows

They work great if it's raining, and you have to have the windows up and no A/C. The wing windows work even better :)

Bolt straight through the dash pad?

Especially if the pad is otherwise in great condition.

Back when I was young those were known as a "defroster fan" and many older cars, like my Gramps 40 ford, and my Dad's various '50's GMC/ Chev pickups, had one

I'm pretty sure the fan would hit the windshield.
Is the floor a good spot, maybe on the tunnel between the seats?

Sitting at lights is when I cook and the factory defrost/heater/summer doors just don't cut it

That was a joke.

I always cringe when I see a race car or even a street car with a tach bolted through an otherwise really nice dash pad.

Come on...make a bracket.

Higher would be better for mounting but sometimes you have no option.
Any air movement is better than none.
