Trunk rubber seal

Is this the proper way that the trunk seal is applied? Know there’s lots of threads on this, but I want to be sure. This is on a 67 barracuda. Thanks for any info that make this clear.

No!

The trunk seal is backwards. The split should face out. When you close the trunk the split will pinch together and keep it water tight.
