Those magazine articles are good entertainment.
For that they are fun.

As far as educational value goes, I'd score them a C- for the first and an F or D+ depending on grading system.

I didn't read them but in a previous life I've certainly been led down some interesting and crooked roads by the magazines

One of 'em had some coupe project years ago, and one article on "how we had our driveshaft made" the "driveshaft expert" CUT THE TUBE IN THE MIDDLE AND WELDED IT back together. A few issues later, they had the "oops" article
