an extra hand (Brother Weeb) to steady the Hemi is helpful while the transmission install casters are removed and the transmission mount is permanently bolted on.

Have I mentioned I love A bodies.....especially Hemi ones?

I love new toys!

(Note: These are just the "mock-up" motor plates. The
pretty ones arrived from machining earlier tonight).

Awesome work as always guys!
That valve train is almost too good looking to be covered up with the valve covers.....................

hey FABO member Rod (Dodge71Demon)....Thanks for the jack base. It will look good in the Flash....along with the spare, stayed as ballast since none was allowed.

Now we better get busy.......11 days and a wake up.

these are right off the shelf....in 1975

I had a pair back then, but never got around to using them. We put a hemi k frame out of the 68 roadrunner that I bought the engine / trans out of, and tied the drivers side down to avoid movement . Worked well-----------

I got to see The Flash in person today at The Mopar Nationals, and I was just in awe of how nice it is. I'm sure Denny will post some pics, but pictures just can't do this car justice. I enjoyed spending some time with Denny, and it was an honor to meet Butch. Great day! Even if we did all get drowned in a rain storm at the end....lol.

A few pictures of the Flash at Columbus.....Plus we hosted driver Butch Leal, Gil Kirk (The Rod Shop), Joe Pappas (Don Carlton Mopar Missile crew chief), Carrol Fink (SS/EA Hemi Cuda convertible), Greg Charney (Retired Chrysler Powertrain Engineer - 9-second street legal 68 Dart), Al Adam (Mopar Missile team member; invented the 069J torque converter), Tom Coddington (Mopar Missile team member & Original Ramcharger), Mike Kayrouz (Leal '65 SS/B) and Magrath Kean (Billy the Kid Stepp Demon).

Thanks to all the FABO guys that took time to stop by to see the Flash and B.S. What a great weekend except for the raindrops.

The Super Stocker was Steve Bagwells before Butch got it.......but you probably already knew that.

Lots to do even before we can fire it up. We made it presentable for the Nats, over the next few months we will make it .....race ready.

Thanks to all that have viewed the restoration and commented..... to me, rates right up there with The Flash's three Wally's.

For those in the Chicago area, looks like the California Flash / Direct Connection / B/MP Hemi Duster will be attending the Muscle Car and Corvette show in Chicago at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center next to O'Hare International Airport the week before Thanksgiving (November 17th and 18th).

The promoter is working to include Butch's appearance also.

That's an awesome show...it should show well there, I saw Mr. Joe Pappas and the wire car there last year. Make sure you plan a dinner at Gibson's...awesome steaks!!! it's right across from the convention center.

Thanks Ross.....Great to hear from you and better yet, even greater to see you at Columbus.

Hi to Dave....Travis got 'em again at Attica Friday night....won the 410 feature (2 in a row) but wasted the chassis backing across the finish line. Sputtering, running out of fuel on the last lap....went low in 3 and 4 to try to get some in the pickup....then came high only to get collected by 2nd place with momentum heading for the checkered.

just one of those racin' deals

A few days after the Nat's, photographer Tim Costello came to HDK with Joe Pappas
to take more shots in preparation for upcoming magazine feature articles.

update on the Chicago show....we will not be there this year. The promoters are excited to have Butch and the Flash Duster attend but because of the short time frame, feel they could do far better with time to promote Butch's appearance.

The Flash is still a work in progress getting all the little details...like running....completed.

To all that knew my buddy Scruffs, I am sorry to announce his passing.
Scruffs is deeply missed.....Rest in Peace my faithful friend.
just started catching up on thread....
Denny, so sorry you lost your shop cat. i know he was part of your and the HDK family so my sympathies to all of you.
KenJ

Thanks Ken. Scruffs must still be around....same as before, brother John still seizes up (must have been allergic to him) after he is at the shop an hour or so.

Leaving this morning w/ the Flash for the PRI show in Indy. The Flash will share the NHRA booth w/ Leah Prichetts Drag Pack Hemi Challenger.
