Just got back from a Mopar swap meet. Scored at slant six 727 lock up trans. Was not aware these even existed. I knew about the /6 727 but never heard of one in a LU configuration.
Looks like this type trans was available in Dodge trucks from 1979 to 1985 long extension and some 4 wd. The numbers on mine list for a 1979/ 225/727 long extension/ LU.
EDIT: PK 4058311 6418 7474

Don't need it right now, but for the price, I figured I would get it just to have on hand. I now have over 30 torqueflite core transmissions on hand.

That is interesting. I never thought they made any, either.

Yup
Same exact trans that's currently in my 85 truck
Stock original as built.

I’m not sure what the classification of a hoarder is, but it’s safe to say when you have 40 transmission cores for a few cars you might have a slight problem… Maybe the 6 transmissions for the 3 cars I have puts me in the same boat?…. LoL
A good Mopar guy always has spare parts. There is no issue as I see it with 40 extra transmissions until YOU start buying rollers to go with that 40 extra trans!!!!!!!

Most of the transmissions I have are for the slant six, and didn't cost me anything. People would pull the slant engine and trans for a V-8, and would just give me the parts just to get rid of them. Some times I would get an old project drivetrain, for a bargain price, just because someone was tired of it, and sometimes I would stumble on "good stuff" in a salvage yard. Like I got my 66 Valiant race car from a yard for scrap weight price of $125 and they delivered it to me on a roll back for another $25. Hard to find good "stuff" in the yards, any more.
