[FOR SALE] - QA1 Upper Control Arms | For A Bodies Only Mopar Forum
I have the QA1 small ball joint upper arms on my Dart. I was able to get up to 6 degrees of caster with them.
I will be installing the QA1 UCA's with big balljoint as I upgrade my car from SBP to BBP. Please remind me: I will have 24:1 manual steering with 15x7 wheels and 215/60/15 up front. Would the best caster setting be larger than the Skosh Chart shows when I am looking for a balance of ease of steering & high speed stability?
Yes. So, in keeping with the categories on the SKOSH chart, I would say you can add +2° to the recommendations listed for the caster, keeping everything else the same. For example, “granny” would be -.25° camber, +3.5° caster, 1/16 to 1/8” toe in. “Max perf. street” goes to -.75 to -1° camber, +4.5° to +5.5° caster, etc. With the QA1’s +5° will probably be about the maximum you can get anyway, although it will depend on your ride height and the alignment specifics on your car.
RRR, you can go to Classic, PST & some of the other suppliers & they will send a catalog for those of us who are internet challenged. LMAO
Are the control arms still available?
Last fall I tried to locate a set and no one had any in stock and could not tell me when they would be in. So I went with the QA1 uppers and boxed the LCA's and it worked out very well. Caster is now set at +4.5
They're sittin in my dining room.
That's what I'm going to do with mine when I finally get there.
FYI, I boxed the LCA's and used PST poly bushings with their greaseable spindles. Made a noticeable difference.
I don't know what I'm gonna do on the lower bushings yet. I have some Prothane poly bushings. I think what I am going to end up doing is using those on the stock pins. I wanted the Delrin stuff from Bergman, but I am going to really have to make this budget friendly at this point.
Sorry, their gone.
what brand of UCA's do people recommend on here was looking at CPP and QA1's and what brands offer's the most caster built into them that are not fully adjustable with big ball joints
All the fixed designs are all the same in terms of extra caster. The QA1 is the nicest of that type. However, with the other options, those arms are obsolete.
OK so how does the PST ones compare to the QA1 and how much do you want for the QA1's with the small ball joint? and yes I know my first question was about the big ball joints I was planning on going with the PST LCA rebuild kit.
I was gonna do the Delrin also but went rubber. Offset uppers and the now obsolete moog problem solver strut rod bushings
I don’t know what PST offers. My opinion was based on hands on fitment, consistency in alignment numbers and the gusseting and amount of material around the upper ball joint. QA1 Upper Control Arm - Bergman Auto Craft
