Yes the 273 “Commando” was available with a 4-speed manual in a Valiant Signet in both hardtop & convertible models.

In 1966 there were 198 Valiants produced with the 273-4bbl “Commando” engine with the four speed manual transmission, this number includes Signet & 200 model versions with this power train combo.
There were also 115 Valiant 100!models made with this same combo.

For our next trick, let's find the what, the one '66 Valiant V-200 station wagon some perv specced up as a Formula-S in everything but name: 273 Commando, 4-speed, and all the goodies including factory air, power tailgate glass, rear-seat shoulder belts*, transistor ignition*, and glovebox light.

*Yes, these were really options in '66.

Wow, really. Does it still exist? One my (many) regrets is not buying a '66 (Canadian, so Dart basically) Signet 273 Commando/4 speed 2 dr hardtop in EE1 dark blue, woulda been about '92/3. The guy wanted a fortune then...$4500 :BangHead:

I didn’t think the Commando was available in the SW.

Duh, wait a sec, I get it now. This wagon is hypothetical. I'm a lil slow on the uptake today.

My 66 wagon had 273-2, 4 speed, 8 3/4 Suregrip, HD suspension and 16:1 steering box. Supposedly, the Commando 273 was not available in the station wagon.
