I'm trying to find Valve Covers for a Mid 80s 318 LA style Engine. Classic Industries stated that their Stock Style LA 318 Valve Covers won't work on a mid 80's 318. None of the aftermarket ones I have found have provisions for the Oil Fill and or don't have the holes for the PCV in the center of the cover. The ones that are on the Vehicle will not seal I have tried to straighten the edges out and they still leak. This Vehicle had sat for a few years before we got it but according to the paperwork we got with the Vehicle the Engine is only 5 years old. The edges of the Valve Covers were bend to sh** so I thought I had them straight as possible. I just want to replace them at this point. After looking at the Paperwork that was stuffed in the Truck we found out that the Engine was a replacement motor for a replacement motor from Jasper Engines installed in the Year 2020. Sorry Vehicle is a 1986 Dodge D 150 2wd

Start a Parts Wanted ad with the specifics of what you are looking for. You can also join up with For Trucks Only Forum. Someone there may have what you need.

FYI, for the most part, all small block LA covers will work. They may not be correct but they will bolt up and work.

Any small block LA Mopar valve covers from 64-91 will bolt on and fit.

Believe your '86 Truck came with the 318 roller cam engine, 302 closed chamber heads.

Here is what '89 318 roller engine valve covers look like.

(1986-1990 318 were rollers)

Pretty sure any valve covers from a LA small block from 1964 - 2003 will bolt right on. Just some differences in breathers and such, but pretty standard once you hit the emission era on up
